From March, 14th to 18th 2022, I participated to the first European School of Metabolomics (https://www.first-eusm.com/), a school for early career European scientists, organized by the The International French Speaking Network of Metabolomics and Fluxomics (le Réseau Francophone de Métabolomique et Fluxomique – RFMF https://www.rfmf.fr/ ) and RFM Junior. This event has gathered 50 young scientists from 11 different European countries, in the south of France, at Moustier-Sainte-Marie.

The week was filled with courses provided by renowned scientists, workshops, scientific talks, technological innovations, all about metabolomic approaches. The school covered a large range of topics, including MS and NMR based metabolomics, statistics, data sharing, computational approaches for metabolite annotation, and recent technical advances presented by sponsors.

It was the perfect opportunity for me to improve my metabolomic skills, get privileged exchanges with speakers, network with young passionate scientists from all Europe, and also get feedbacks and possibly new ideas for my own research.

Many thanks to the RFMF junior organizing committee, who organized this event with such a great atmosphere. Special thanks for the scientific committee and all the speakers who shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for metabolomics.

Just one advice for my fellow PhD mates: go for it if you have the opportunity!

Cheers
